How Dental Implants Mimic the Natural Design of Teeth

When a patient who’s missing one or more teeth comes to their dentist for restorative help, what they want is a solution that will get them what they once had. Unfortunately, with most restorative solutions, that’s not possible. But it is with dental implants.

That’s because dental implants come with a prosthetic root that anchors the new restoration to the jaw and stimulates the growth of new bone tissue in the jaw. The jaw needs this kind of stimulation to stay healthy and only dental implants are structured in such a way as to mimic the natural structure of teeth.

The process of restoring a smile with dental implants is a two-stage process. In the first, our Bellingham team will insert one or more implants in your jaw. How many implants you’ll get will depend on how many teeth you’ll be replacing. Dental implants are an incredibly versatile service. You can replace a single or an entire row of upper or lower teeth.

When your implants have been put in place, they’ll be given some time to bond with your jaw. Then, once a strong bond has formed between them, our dentists will attach your new crown, bridge, or denture, completing your restoration procedure. With your new smile in place, you can enjoy the kind of functionality you once had with your natural smile. That means you can speak and eat easily, without having to worry about loose dentures that don’t fit right.

Dental implants aren’t right for everyone, though. To find out if dental implants can help you, call Moreno Dental today. Our Bellingham office serves patients from Ferndale, Lynden, Everson, and surrounding areas.
