Our knowledgeable and friendly Young Dental team consistently trains and maintains certifications, and most importantly, goes above and beyond to offer gentle dental care. Many have been with us for over 20 years, giving them a deep understanding of our community, our patients, and expertise at helping everyone feel right at home in our Bellingham dental office.
Heather Office Manager
As a child, Heather had the most amazing dentist, which made her decide to go into dentistry. She graduated from Clover Park Technical College in 1993 and has over 30 years of dental assisting, front office management, and insurance claims experience. She says that the best thing about her job is being able to support both the team and our patients at the same time.
Heather has two adult children, a son, Tyler, and a daughter, Madison. She loves spending time with family, staying active, and making memories whenever we can. Whether it's just hanging out or doing something fun, those moments with her kids and grandson are what she treasures most.
Maria Dental Hygienist
Maria is our “token Canadian” who knew she wanted to be a dental hygienist since she was 7 years old! She started her career in 2000, working as a Certified Dental Assistant for over 7 years, specializing in children and adults with special needs. After completing her education at the University of Toronto in 2009, she became a dental hygienist and has been with our practice for over a decade.
Maria and her husband, Davey, have been married since 2012, giving her two stepdaughters and one son. The family is completed by their two dogs (Russ and Leo) and cat (Junie). She likes to stay active by playing volleyball twice a week, snowboarding, biking, or just jumping on the trampoline (she can still do tricks!).
Craig Dental Hygienist
Craig joined us in 2022, but he has more than 10 years of experience in the world of dentistry. For him, building relationships with patients and working together to improve their oral health are the most rewarding aspects of his job. After high school, he attended WWU and BTC for his studies. Married with two daughters, some of his favorite things to do outside the office are gardening, golfing, and cooking/baking. He’s also a big amusement park and roller coaster enthusiast!
Carli Dental Hygienist
For Carli, her job is about building connections with her patients, creating a comfortable and supportive environment for those with dental anxiety, and motivating individuals to take an active interest in their oral health. She’s a BTC graduate with 7 years of prior experience as a dental assistant, including working in the field throughout dental hygiene school.
Carli met her husband, Alex, in high school, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Married for 10+ years, she stays busy supporting her four sports-loving boys. When time allows, she enjoys getting lost in a good book, hiking, baking, attending concerts, spending time "glamping," and creating core memories with family.
Brittany Dental Hygienist
Brittany has been a dental hygienist since 2008 and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with an associate degree in dental hygiene with additional training in anesthesia and nitrous oxide. She moved to Bellingham in 2011 from upstate New York to be closer to family. She and her husband have been married since 2016 and have two daughters, Evelyn and Esmé, along with a kitty, Daisy. When she isn’t working, she likes to spend time with family, go on nature walks, bike, and travel.
Olivia Administrative/Dental Assistant
Olivia joined Young Dental after having the opportunity to work as a temp in the summer of 2012. She brings over 30 years of experience and loves getting to know patients, enabling them to stay comfortable, and even helping some overcome lifelong fears. Although she grew up in Washington, she is the only one of her four siblings still living the sea-to-mountain life, which gives her many places to travel to and explore. She’s always eager to enjoy the outdoors with warm fires, camping, and conversations full of laughter.
Kim Insurance Specialist
Kim has been in the dental field since 1979! Her career includes experience both as a chairside dental assistant and in dental practice management. Her love of dentistry and interaction with patients are what have kept her engaged and motivated decade after decade. Kim and her husband, Gene, have two grown sons and one granddaughter. She is passionate about horses, landscape photography, gardening, water sports, spending time with family, and maintaining her 175-gallon saltwater reef tank.
Bethany R. Dental Assistant
Bethany has been a dental assistant with Young Dental since 2011. She attended the program at Bellingham Technical College and graduated top of her class. She enjoys gaining people’s confidence and seeing dramatic before-and-after results. In the summer, she likes to hang out poolside, do yard work, and jet ski. When the colder months come around, she tries to always travel somewhere tropical!
Gurpreet Dental Assistant
With over a decade of experience under her belt, Gurpreet joined our team in May of 2019. She completed her studies at WCC and BTC. For her, the best part of her job is helping patients maintain healthy teeth and getting them out of pain. When she isn’t working, she enjoys being with her family of 5, going on long walks, and soaking up the sun outdoors. Fun fact: she is trilingual, fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi.
Marina Dental Assistant
Marina joined us in 2025, and she loves being a part of a team that helps so many people achieve healthy, confident smiles. She attended BTC and comes from a large family, which includes 16 siblings (12 brothers and 4 sisters), along with lots of beautiful nieces and nephews! When she isn’t spending time with loved ones, she likes to work out, hike, garden, read, bake, and play the piano. She is bilingual in English and Russian!
